Announcing our new identity.

After four years of being known primarly as [ahem]Microsoft.com, the flagship site of the Microsoft Eradication Society now sports a new, slightly more family-friendly name: Microsuck. And if you've come here expecting the old Microsuck website, we regret to inform you that it is no more. After laying dormant for a while, the previous owners offered it for sale to us. We couldn't resist.

Either way, we know that regular visitors to either site may be seeking some more details. And that's why we're so kindly offering to tell you more about the site's new name.

Microsuck@WWDC2003
We've received rave reviews for our live coverage of Steve Jobs' keynote presentation at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2003 in San Francisco. Many site visitors wrote in to report that ours was the best coverage on the Web. The keynote's over, and the stream is now publicly available, but if you'd still like to read our coverage, here it is.

What's so bad about Microsoft?

"OK, I know a lot of people are saying Microsoft's bad, and they were taken to court for something. But, like, why?" If that's you, then you need to read this story right away. After all, not everyone who visits this site knows what makes Microsoft so bad. So we dropped a line to Timothy Macinta, the author of this very informative piece from KMFMS.com, and he delivered. Even if you're a battle-hardened warrior against the Redmond army, you'll probably learn things here that you didn't know. Educate yourself.

Microsoft's Really Hidden Files
No, your name, address, and zip code aren't enough for the boys in Redmond. Our friend The Riddler writes: "There are folders on your computer that Microsoft has tried hard to keep secret. Within these folders you will find . . . [a log of all] the sites you have ever visited . . . [and] ALL of your e-mail correspondence -- even after you've erased them from your trashbin." Get explicit, step-by-step instructions for uncovering these "really hidden files," and prepare for a walk down memory lane that you didn't plan on.

And Now, The Part Where We Beg.
Previously, we used this spot to ask you (very nicely!) to donate money to our site, since we have no advertising, nobody underwrites us, and so on. But we realize that not all of you have the means to do so.

That's well and good. For those of you who do have a little money to spare, the PayPal donation button at right seeks the attention of your mouse pointer. But there are also other, non-donation ways of helping us out. We finally got off our duffs and put together this handy support page, which suggests nine different ways that you can help this site out. Yes, even if you don't have a penny to spare. So now you've really got no excuse!

But of course, sending us money is still always good.

Speak Your Mind.
After three years of hoarding the microphone for ourselves, we're finally ready to share. At long last, we finally give you, the faithful site visitor, a chance to run your mouth, instead of just listening to us all the time! Yes, Virginia, the Microsoft Eradication Society Forums are now online. Register as a user (it's painless, free, and quick!) and start posting away. Go ahead and speak your mind!

Wait, You Mean You Still Haven't Signed Up For Your Free E-Mail Address?
Yeah, that's right -- you did just see the word "free" flash by your pupils. Now you can join the Internet's fast-growing anti-Microsoft community and vent your frustration over being one of the long oppressed masses. Sign up for your free e-mail address now, or even order a full-fledged POP account, and be the first on your IP block to sport this hot new Internet fashion accessory!

Rifle Through Our Mailbox!
This site gets a decent amount of feedback, and once in a while, it actually manages to be interesting! We've compiled some of the feedback we've received from you, the good site visitors, and even responded to some of them! Witness us engaging in the thankless task of educating mindless Windows drones and, on occasion, actually receiving words of support.
Grab Your Virtual Host Now!
That's right, honey. If you administer a UNIX system or have a machine with a fixed IP address, you can proudly proclaim your anti-Microsoft position through the magic of reverse DNS. Hop over to our virtual hosts information page, and we'll give you more information.
